Snow Chains Required in Winter

During the winter period, all vehicles entering Ben Lomond National Park are required to carry snow chains, including 4WD and AWD vehicles.

Chains may be required to be fitted when directed by signage, Parks staff, or when snow and ice are present on the road. We recommend organising your chains before entering the National Park to avoid delays.

Planning Your Visit

During busy weekends and school holidays, we recommend arriving 1 to 2 hours before the time you wish to arrive on the snow to allow time for fitting.
